First Taiwan Agri-Tourism Exhibition Held in Indonesia

The inaugural “Taiwan Agri-Tourism Exhibition” took place at Emporium Pluit Mall in Jakarta, Indonesia, supported by the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Indonesia. The event, held from May 23 to 25, gathered high-quality agricultural tourism resources from Taiwan and showcased diverse agri-tour package offerings, attracting significant attention from local media and the public.
The exhibition was themed around the imagery of Taiwan's countryside, incorporating design elements such as flowers, bamboo weaving, and greenery to create an immersive agri-tourism space. Indonesia, with a population of 270 million and a young demographic, has a strong demand for experiential travel. Taiwan's agri-tourism responds to international trends with its core values of “nature, culture, and sustainability,” paving new opportunities for Taiwan's tourism industry.
The Council of Agriculture’s Rural Development Agency and the Taiwan Leisure Agriculture Development Association collaborated on a promotional campaign to expand the Indonesian market for agricultural tourism and foster bilateral tourism exchanges. The exhibition attracted seven Taiwanese farms and eight local Indonesian travel agencies to jointly present various travel itineraries and offered promotional airline tickets.
All participating farms showcased their unique experiences, having received the “Special Agri-Tourism Facility Certification.” Activities included painting bags, postcard making, and hands-on textile printing for families. This first exhibition in Jakarta is a pivotal moment for Taiwanese agri-tourism on the international stage, enhancing brand recognition and visibility in the Indonesian market.
Moving forward, the Council of Agriculture plans to maintain the event's momentum and amplify its market impact by inviting Indonesian influencers for follow-up visits to Taiwan’s agri-tourism destinations, continuously sharing in-depth travel content through social media, and facilitating actual tour sales.
