Trump Claims Canada Considering Becoming 51st State for Protection, British King Shows Support

King Charles III of the United Kingdom presided over the opening session of the Canadian Parliament on the 28th, praising Canada as "strong and free" in his throne speech.
On the 27th, U.S. President Donald Trump mentioned that Canada is "considering" his proposal that if it agrees to become the 51st state of the U.S., it could receive the "Golden Dome" missile defense system for free. Charles's speech is interpreted as a show of support for Canada, stating that it faces a critical moment where democracy and freedom are cherished values of its people.
He also quoted lyrics from the Canadian national anthem, emphasizing Canada's strength and freedom. Recently, due to Trump's annexation threats, the monarchy's presence in Canada has seen a resurgence. His speech, crafted by the office of Prime Minister Mark Carney, aimed to outline the priorities for building a strong Canada.
Trump indicated that if Canada remains a separate country, it would need to pay $61 billion to join the Golden Dome system. To this proposal, Canada has not yet responded.
