Ren Yonezawa Maintains Lead at Japan Golf Tour Championship

At the BMW Japan Golf Tour Championship Mori Building Cup, Ren Yonezawa has once again showcased impressive performance and reclaimed the top position.
The 25-year-old player from Iwate prefecture shot a total of 134 strokes, six under par, at the Shishido Hills Country Club, leading Yuki Inamori by two strokes after two days of play.
This year's Shishido Hills course has increased in difficulty due to strong winds, and yesterday's leader, Takashi Ogiso, who shot a 65, fell to a tie for 13th place after shooting a 75.
Yonezawa's consistent play included five birdies and two bogeys, marking his second time atop the 36-hole leaderboard following the Maezawa Cup held in late April.
Although he fell short of winning last year, he has had an excellent season, making the top six four times, including a fourth-place finish at the recent Mizuno Open, just missing out on qualifying for the Royal Portrush Golf Club.
Yonezawa feels his style fits well with the Shishido Hills course and looks forward to maintaining his strong performance in upcoming tournaments.
