Lai Ching-te Invites KMT and TPP Leaders for National Security Talks Next Week

The Taiwan People's Party (TPP) announced today (12th) that Secretary-General Chou Yu-hsiu received a call from Presidential Office Secretary-General Pan Meng-an, stating that President Lai Ching-te will invite TPP Chairman Huang Kuo-chang and Chou Yu-hsiu for a discussion on national affairs on next Wednesday (18th) at 9 AM. The Kuomintang (KMT) also stated that Secretary-General Huang Chien-ting received a call from Pan Meng-an, inviting party chairman Zhu Lilun and Huang Chien-ting to meet on the 18th.
Presidential Office spokesperson Kuo Ya-hui mentioned that this is the first time a national security briefing has been presented to opposition party leaders, expressing hope for positive responses. She emphasized the need for all parties to prioritize national interests and work together to face the challenges ahead. More detailed arrangements will be disclosed after both parties respond.
