Taiwan's Executive Yuan Approves Two Additional Long Weekends

The Executive Yuan has officially approved the addition of two three-day weekends for the second half of the year, giving citizens more options for holiday planning. According to the latest announcement, the Teacher's Day and Taiwan's Recovery Day will both coincide with regular holidays to create three consecutive days off.
Notably, the constitutional anniversary on December 25 will not result in rescheduled holidays. Looking ahead to next year, the total number of holidays will be 120 days, which includes nine three-day or longer continuous holidays, with the Lunar New Year break extending to nine days. As the two-day weekend becomes more common, the government has also revised its guidelines on adjusting work days for holidays, no longer setting make-up work days. The make-up holiday for Teacher's Day will fall on September 29 (Monday), and the make-up for Taiwan's Recovery Day will be observed on October 24 (Friday).
The Civil Service Agency emphasized that the holiday schedule is applicable only to government personnel, and adjustments for other institutions should follow relevant regulations. Additionally, the holiday schedule for 2025 and 2026 has been published on the official website, allowing the public to check it at any time.
