Iran and Israel Continue Bombing Each Other; Trump Claims Conflict Can "Easily End"

Iran and Israel Continue Bombing Each Other; Trump Claims Conflict Can

Despite calls for restraint and de-escalation from various parties, attacks and bombings between Iran and Israel continue. Iran has canceled scheduled nuclear talks with the United States that were to take place in Oman on Sunday, stating that negotiating under Israeli fire is "meaningless."

Israeli forces have indicated that attacks on Iran will persist, with a series of bombings occurring over Saturday and Sunday targeting a defense facility and multiple fuel depots. The Israeli military stated that its air force struck "over 80" targets in Tehran on Saturday night. Iran reported that these Israeli strikes caused fires at its oil storage facilities and also targeted the Ministry of Defense. According to semi-official media in Iran, the attacks have led to a partial halt in production at the South Pars gas field.

Former President Trump praised Israel's offensive while denying accusations from Iran alleging U.S. involvement. He warned Tehran against expanding any retaliation to U.S. facilities, stating, "If we are attacked by Iran in any form, the U.S. armed forces will retaliate with unprecedented scale." He also noted, "However, we can easily reach an agreement between Iran and Israel to end this bloody conflict!"

As fatalities in Israel rise amid the latest wave of Iranian attacks, there are growing concerns around the potential for a prolonged conflict following decades of animosity and proxy warfare in the region. German Chancellor Merz stated that Iran must "never possess nuclear weapons" and communicated with leaders from Oman and other countries to prevent an escalation of the conflict.
