Trump Announces Fourth Tariff List, Imposing 30% Tariff on EU and Mexico
On December 12, U.S. President Trump announced the fourth wave of tariffs on his social media platform, Truth Social. He declared that starting August 1, a 30% tariff will be imposed on products from Mexico. Similarly, EU exports will also face a 30% tariff.
Previously, during the announcement of new tariffs on April 2, Trump indicated a 25% tariff on Mexico and a 20% tariff on the EU, both of which are lower than the rates announced today. To date, Trump has issued four tariff notifications covering 24 countries and the EU, excluding Taiwan.
