Indonesian Provincial Legislators Visit Tainan City Government to Foster Agricultural Education Exchanges

Two provincial legislators from East Nusa Tenggara, Indonesia, Aloysius and Marcelinus, met with Tainan Mayor Huang Wei-che on the 20th. The Municipal Government, represented by the Director of the Department of News and International Relations, Su En-en, warmly welcomed the guests. The parties discussed potential cooperation opportunities during their meeting, and the two legislators also visited the city council.
Mayor Huang noted that East Nusa Tenggara is a significant agricultural and cultural hub in Indonesia, while Tainan is Taiwan's first city, sharing common features. He hopes to establish future collaborations through student exchanges, sports events, and interscholastic interactions.
Additionally, he expressed hope that the high schools in East Nusa Tenggara could become sister schools with those in Tainan, facilitating student exchanges. He also emphasized the possibilities for agricultural collaboration, allowing citizens from both regions to enjoy a wider variety of fresh fruits.
Aloysius highlighted that agriculture in East Nusa Tenggara still follows traditional practices and expressed a desire to learn advanced agricultural techniques from Tainan. He also hopes to encourage students from East Nusa Tenggara to study in Tainan, considering it a very advanced city, and believes this opportunity could lead to further learning and exchanges.
Marcelinus mentioned that the choice to visit Tainan was due to its status as a highly advanced city. He hopes to personally learn from the urban experiences here and wishes that students from East Nusa Tenggara can have opportunities to study in Tainan, particularly in sports or competitions, which could lead to further exchanges in the future.
