According to reports, U Yeon-na (오요안나) passed away unexpectedly in September 2024, with details emerging that she had been bullied by other female anchors for nearly two years, which ultimately led her to choose suicide. In her farewell letter, she named Kim Ga-young as the 'true devil'. However, MBC allowed Ga-young to continue her role as a weather presenter, igniting a backlash from South Korean netizens.
