57-Year-Old Cancer Survivor Jeffrey Achieves His Dream at World Games Archery

57-year-old Malaysian archery coach Jeffrey Kok achieved a score of 607, placing 7th among 13 in the compound bow men's 50+ individual qualifiers at the World Games. Although he was not satisfied with his score, he was thrilled to participate in Taiwan. Recently completing 12 rounds of chemotherapy and undergoing two surgeries, Jeffrey continues to face challenges with courage.
After being diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer, he was advised by friends and family to rest, but he decided to make the most of his limited time. "Archery relies not just on physical strength, but also on mental acuity," he emphasized. In 2016, he resigned from his job to open an archery club.
This is his first trip to Taiwan, marking the 49th country he has visited. Despite dietary restrictions due to his illness, he looks forward to experiencing Taiwanese cuisine.
