On the 8th of October, at 8 AM local time, Colombia experienced a 6.3 magnitude earthquake, with the epicenter located near the capital, Bogotá, and a depth of only 10 kilometers, classifying it as a shallow earthquake. Many citizens, alarmed by the intense shaking, quickly evacuated from buildings. According to the United States Geological Survey (USGS), the earthquake struck approximately 17 kilometers south-southwest of Paratebueno in Cundinamarca province. Numerous videos circulating on social media showcase the vigorous tremors and some buildings swaying for about 5 seconds.
