Disruption on 520 Anniversary! Two Chinese Nationals Arrested for Illegally Entering Taiwan

On the anniversary of President Lai Ching-te's inauguration, another attempt of illegal entry into Taiwan by Chinese nationals was reported. Early today (20th) around 5 AM, Coast Guard personnel detected two Chinese nationals using infrared and radar technology as they attempted to reach Erdan Island for shellfishing, having set off from Xiamen on a small boat with a polystyrene float. They were intercepted and arrested mid-activity.

At 5:08 AM, alerts were raised, and Coast Guard units quickly responded, successfully detaining the two men, who admitted to sneaking into Kinmen from China and claimed they merely intended to collect shells. This incident coincided with the 520 presidential inauguration anniversary, leading the Coast Guard to suggest potential links to cognitive warfare.

Director Liao Junde of the Kinmen Coast Guard stated that the two were sent to the Kinmen District Prosecutor's Office under immigration law. Furthermore, another recent incident involving a Chinese national asserting he had planted a five-star flag in Taiwan has raised questions about authenticity.
