Masterworks from the New York Metropolitan Museum to Debut in Taiwan
The highly anticipated "Masterworks Exhibition" featuring iconic pieces from the New York Metropolitan Museum of Art will open in June at the National Palace Museum in Taipei. The exhibition will showcase 81 classic works by 38 renowned artists, spanning from Impressionism to Modernism, drawing significant attention.
Among the must-visit attractions in New York, the Metropolitan Museum of Art is celebrated as one of the world’s top three museums. International tour guide Huang Yu-chi mentioned that visitors typically do not miss landmarks such as the Empire State Building, the Statue of Liberty, and Wall Street, with the Metropolitan Museum adjacent to Central Park being a key stop for Taiwanese tourists.
This June marks the first large-scale transfer of prized collections to Taiwan from the Metropolitan Museum, allowing art enthusiasts and families to enjoy a rich artistic experience without the hassles of long flights, time zone changes, or language barriers.
