Hong Kong Actor Fang Gang Passes Away at 78, Known as 'The Rogue' in the Industry

Renowned Hong Kong actor Fang Gang, originally named Leung Shun-Nian, passed away at the age of 78 on the morning of May 30. The news was shared by his stepson, Wang Hanxiang, on social media. Fang Gang had earned the nickname 'The Rogue' due to his portrayal of villainous characters in numerous productions.
His acting career began in 1968 when he joined an acting training program at Cathay Film Company, and he gained fame in Southeast Asia in 1986 with his role in the stage play 'The Intrigues'. Notable works include his performance alongside actors Leon Lai and Lau Ching-Wan in 'On the Edge', and various popular dramas like 'The Grand Winner II' and 'The Aristocrats'.
In his personal life, Fang Gang remained unmarried and settled in mainland China after retiring from acting, enjoying a luxurious retired life. Friends described his villa as resembling a palace. Despite recent health struggles, he continued to share moments from his life on social media.
