Houbik's Century-Old Rice Factory Makes Its First Export of 500 Tons of White Rice to Japan

The Fangrong Rice Factory in Houbik, with nearly a century of history, has for the first time exported high-quality white rice to Japan, totaling 500 tons shipped in 25 containers. The sealing ceremony took place recently, attended by various officials and industry representatives.

Mayor Huang Weizhe highlighted that Japan has very strict protectionist policies on rice imports, and this successful entry into the Japanese market demonstrates the rice's compliance with rigorous quality standards, allowing Japanese consumers to enjoy quality Taiwanese rice from Tainan.

CEO Huang Liqin remarked that since its establishment, the factory has been helping farmers improve rice quality and thanked the technical support for enabling products to meet international standards. This batch of rice will be packaged in 5 kg, a familiar format for Japanese households, showcasing the industry's innovation and the continuity of tradition.
