42-Year-Old Teacher Falls to His Death; Students Mourn Him as a Great Teacher

A tragic falling incident occurred last month at the South Horizon in Hong Kong. The victim was a 42-year-old teacher named Ye, who taught computer science at a secondary school. It has been reported that he suffered from depression and was allegedly troubled by work-related stress, leading to a deterioration in his mental health.
The incident happened around 4 PM on May 31, when police received reports about Ye standing by a window of a building and unfortunately fell, resulting in immediate death. Initial investigations revealed that he was a resident of the building, and no suicide note was found at the scene.
The school where Ye taught confirmed the news of his death on the 4th and announced that a crisis management protocol was activated, with teachers, social workers, and educational psychologists providing immediate counseling for students and affected staff, and arranging for students to write letters of condolence to his family.
Many students expressed their sorrow on social media, describing Ye as a “funny and friendly” teacher who genuinely cared for his students. Recently, some students noticed that Ye's complexion was poor, but they never anticipated that his mental health had deteriorated so severely. They mournfully commented: “So gentle and kind, passionate about teaching. He was truly a one-in-a-million teacher,” and emphasized the importance of valuing life.
