Two Female Students Rescued After Three Months of Captivity in Cambodia

Two university students from Taichung traveled to Cambodia in March for work, but ended up being held captive as 'pigs'. One student sent a distress text to her family, prompting her grandfather to wire NT$136,000 in an attempt to rescue her, but he may have fallen victim to a scam, leading them to seek police assistance.
Through the efforts of private rescue organizations, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and the Criminal Investigation Bureau, the two students were successfully rescued and returned to Taiwan earlier today.
