In New Taipei City's Xindian district, a conflict arose over parenting issues when a father named Chen was dissatisfied with another boy's continued teasing of his son at a Pokémon arcade game. He requested that the other child's father intervene, leading to a verbal altercation. The other father then returned home, fetched a machete, and came back to threaten Chen.

Witnesses described how a man in red on a motorcycle confronted a man in black, who then abruptly drew a machete, swinging it menacingly. Bystanders quickly intervened, subduing the aggressor and reporting the incident to the police. The store owner also recounted that a parent came in asking to secure the knife.

This incident took place around 6 PM on the 24th, with both fathers present with their children enjoying the games. Chen expressed frustration at the other child’s disruptive behavior and sought discipline, but the situation escalated dramatically.
