In celebration of the opening of its Beijing store, Balenciaga has unveiled a limited edition 'Peking Duck Bag', with only 20 pieces available at a staggering price of 15,500 RMB (approximately 65,550 TWD). This has sparked widespread discussions online. The bag features an image of 'Peking Duck' and has a rectangular shape with a zipper closure, but many internet users have criticized its design as cheap.

According to Balenciaga's official Weibo account, this item is part of a limited series released in conjunction with the opening of the flagship store in Beijing's Sanlitun, which took place on May 27th. Alongside the bag, there are other limited edition items including a tote and a foldable wallet. Reports indicate that only 3 of the bags remain unsold.

Despite the high-quality Italian leather used for the bag, some netizens still express their confusion, stating that 'the aesthetic sense of wealthy individuals is hard to understand.' Additionally, a similar design was found on Taobao selling for only 39.8 RMB (around 168 TWD), which includes 'duck and sauce', leading to praise for its value.
