27-year-old Guo Boyan, who won third place in the 2020 Miss Hong Kong pageant, shocked fans by sharing photos of her swollen and red eyes on social media.

She revealed that this was her first experience with a severe food allergy, which caused her to have difficulty breathing and blurred vision, leading her to seek emergency medical care. On Instagram, she stated: "This is the first time I've had such a serious food allergy; I initially thought it was food poisoning... right now we suspect certain foods might have caused this reaction."

The entire episode occurred within just half an hour, resulting in her eyes swelling, vision being affected, and even experiencing bronchial constriction alongside severe reactions like tearing and a runny nose.

Guo acknowledged that the sudden allergic reaction caught not only her off guard but also alarmed her mother and friends. Fortunately, after seeking medical treatment, she has received injections and medication to control her symptoms, and is now in stable condition. She reassured her followers: "What a rollercoaster of a night! Sorry for scaring my mom and everyone around me; I got my shots and took my medicine, so I’m fine now."

After her post, many netizens flooded her social media with encouraging messages, expressing relief that she is alright and wishing her a speedy recovery while also suggesting that she undergo further allergy testing to prevent future incidents.
