Blue Legislators Adopt Han Kuo-yu's Slogan Against Recall; Green Camp Criticizes Fear of Recall

Legislative Yuan President Han Kuo-yu recently stated, "If the recall is successful, Taiwanese democracy will be in vain," which has become the latest slogan among blue camp lawmakers. This statement was repeatedly made during discussions on military treatment regulations. The green camp mocked Han, suggesting that after his recall from the Kaohsiung mayoralty, he should not fear recalls, as such events could provide new opportunities for political careers.

During a break in the session, Kuomintang legislator Luo Zhikang displayed a slogan near the podium while arguing with Democratic Progressive Party legislator Wang Meihui, continuously repeating Han's latest saying. Green legislator Zhuang Ruixiong pointed out that the blue camp should not equate their political survival with Taiwanese democracy, calling it an overreaction to link the recall with democracy.

Media personality Chen Huiwen criticized that the era of Han's quotable phrases has ended, stating that his current remarks come off as irrelevant. Post-recall, Kaohsiung thrived under Chen Qimai’s leadership, disproving Han’s claim.
