Taiwan Tourism Bureau Opens Seattle Office to Boost North American Market Development

The Taiwan Tourism Bureau held a ceremony on June 13, North American time, in Seattle, USA for the inauguration of the "Taiwan Tourism Service Office in Seattle" (TTIC). This marks a significant step in strengthening Taiwan's tourism promotion in North America. The ceremony was presided over by the director of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Seattle, Zhen Guoqing, and attended by key guests including Huang Yicheng, head of the International Division of the Tourism Bureau, and other representatives, symbolizing the expansion of Taiwan's tourism brand in North America.

With the increasing number of flights between Taiwan and major North American cities, there are currently nearly 190 direct flights per week. The Seattle route has shown particularly significant growth, becoming a key hub for connections between Taiwan and the northwest USA. Huang noted that in the past year, the number of flights between Taiwan and Seattle has quadrupled, greatly enhancing the convenience and willingness of American travelers to visit Taiwan.

Zhen emphasized that the establishment of TTIC represents a new phase in Taiwan's exchanges with the northwest USA, aiming to deepen cultural and human connections through tourism and expand bilateral interaction opportunities. Following the ceremony, the bureau hosted a "Taiwan Tourism Promotion Conference" in Seattle, inviting local travel agencies and media to enhance product packaging and channel cooperation.

Situated in a convenient location, TTIC is close to several light rail stations, making it easy for travelers interested in visiting Taiwan to obtain information. Looking ahead, TTIC will plan a series of exciting events, including the "Two Days Taiwan Immersive Festival" in August, the "Hey Hey Taipei" airport promotion in September, and various media familiarization trips, all aimed at promoting sustainable growth and mutual development of Taiwan's tourism in the North American market.
