American Workers Exhibit Low Concerns Over AI Job Replacements, Survey Reveals Industry Adaptation Variance

According to the latest annual report by Gallup, the adoption of artificial intelligence (AI) in U.S. workplaces has rapidly increased, with 40% of American workers stating they use AI technology on the job, nearly doubling from 19% last year.

The survey indicates that the proportion of employees frequently using AI tools rose from 11% to 19%, highlighting a growing dependency on AI technologies. The U.S. government has recently prioritized AI development in its policies and established a National AI Committee to foster collaboration within the industry.

However, the survey also reveals that only 15% of respondents are concerned about their jobs being replaced by AI or automation within the next five years, indicating that overall anxiety is not as strong as previously expected. There is a significant difference across industries, with manufacturing showing the highest levels of concern, while healthcare and education sectors are relatively less worried.

Additionally, many employees lack clear understanding about the purposes and benefits of using AI tools. Among those who use AI, only 16% strongly agree that the tools provided by their employers are genuinely useful, suggesting that many companies may be adopting AI without targeted strategies.
