Asia-Pacific Tournament: Chinese Team Falls to Japan, Korea Takes A Group Top Spot

In the 2025 World Little League Intermediate Division (LLB 50/70) Asia-Pacific and Middle East Regional Qualifiers, the Chinese team suffered a 7-1 defeat against Japan, missing the chance to claim the top spot in Group B and finishing with a record of 2 wins and 1 loss in second place. Japan, on the other hand, achieved three consecutive victories to secure first place in Group B.
During the game, the Chinese team created a great opportunity in the first inning with bases loaded due to walks and hits but failed to score. Subsequently, Japan capitalized on their chances and scored 4 points in the first inning. Despite several runs into scoring position, the Chinese team could not convert their opportunities into points.
The Chinese team will face the winner of Group A, Korea, at 6 PM on the 20th. Korea has shown overwhelming strength in the group stage, winning three games and totaling 55 points. After the game, Japan's head coach Takayuki Yukimura emphasized that the defense during the bases-loaded scenario in the first inning was key to their victory and praised his team's overall performance.
