Lai Ching-te in Kaohsiung to Present Flag for 2025 Germany Universiade Athletes
The 2025 World University Games will be held from July 16 to 27 in Rhine Ruhr, Germany. President Lai Ching-te visited the National Sports Training Center in Zuoying, Kaohsiung, on the morning of the 11th to personally present the flag to Taiwanese athletes set to compete and awarded them with TWD 200,000 to encourage them to give their best effort.
During the flag presentation ceremony, President Lai emphasized that this Universiade will mirror past Asian and Olympic games by establishing relay stations, meal apartments, physical therapy facilities, and sports centers, ensuring all athletes receive comprehensive logistical support.
He reflected on Taiwan's past achievements, particularly the outstanding results from the 2023 Chengdu Universiade, expressing confidence in the athletes set to compete and encouraging them to fully exert themselves and achieve excellent results.
