President Meets Award Winners from the China Engineering Society, Aiming for a Safer and Smarter Taiwan

On the afternoon of the 6th, President Lai Ching-te met with the award winners from the China Engineering Society’s 114th annual awards. He stated that the expertise of engineers is a vital force driving national progress, expressing gratitude for their years of hard work, becoming role models for the younger generation.

The President noted that today is Engineer’s Day and expressed sincere congratulations to the new fellows and award-winning engineers. He also thanked them for their contributions to national construction, emphasizing that whether in infrastructure, technological innovation, or promoting net-zero sustainability, engineers' dedication has created a safer and more convenient living environment for Taiwan.

Furthermore, he acknowledged Chairman Yang Tsung-hsing for actively promoting international exchanges, allowing Taiwan’s engineering community to display strength and influence in the world. This year’s new fellows, such as Professor Wang Li-Chun from National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University and Professor Li Ching-Ting from National Cheng Kung University, have achieved excellence in their fields.

The President encouraged these outstanding engineers to continue their contributions and collaborate with the government toward a smarter and safer Taiwan, striving for net-zero transformation.
