Internet Celebrity 'Guangchang' to Serve as Peace Ambassador in China, Concerns Raised About Role as United Front Model

Internet influencer 'Guangchang' Chen Zihan announced in a live stream on the 25th that he will be traveling to China, stating that the trip will be broadcast live to prove that he is not receiving any benefits and will not be forced by any Chinese officials. In response, veteran media personality Akira Yabita said that while it is his freedom to travel to China, based on years of observing China, the role assigned to him the moment he sets foot in China is unlikely to be a 'peace ambassador', but rather a 'model for United Front work'.
Yabita warned that China would use Guangchang's trip to send misleading messages to young people in Taiwan, such as 'the Chinese people are friendly', 'China is free', 'Taiwan lacks freedom and democracy', and 'the DPP is evil'. He further stated that while Guangchang may not be 'pressed' into action upon arrival in China, he would likely receive a warm welcome. However, this is merely a superficial phenomenon; many people from Taiwan have lost their freedom in China on dubious charges, and once the 'model for United Front work' loses its value, China will not hesitate to take action.
