The 78-year-old suspect, identified as Yu, passed away at 7:20 AM on the 31st after undergoing two surgeries and 12 days of treatment. The family expressed concerns about future compensation and the investigation into the incident.

Mayor Hou You-ih stated that he had requested assistance from civil organizations to place a provisional seizure on the assets of the driver involved in the accident, emphasizing that the legal procedures will be followed to ensure justice for all victims.

Following the accident, Yu suffered a ruptured organ and fell into a coma, and despite emergency treatment at the Ay-Tung Hospital, his condition worsened. Authorities confirmed that they will rapidly investigate the case and clarify both the cause of the accident and the issues of compensation.
