EVA Air Flight Delayed 4 Hours Due to Brake Malfunction, Affecting 168 Passengers

EVA Air's flight BR849, an A321 aircraft, was scheduled to depart from Kaohsiung International Airport to Hong Kong at 4:45 PM today but encountered a brake malfunction during taxiing, resulting in a delay of nearly 4 hours.

During taxiing, the pilot attempted to release the parking brake but found that the aircraft could not move forward. For safety reasons, the pilot decided to abort the takeoff procedure and notified the control tower. Ground staff and airport fire services quickly arrived to handle the situation, leading to the temporary closure of the runway, affecting other flights as well.

After confirming that the aircraft was safe for flight, EVA Air resumed takeoff at 8:29 PM with 168 passengers aboard. The airline has expressed its sincerest apologies for the inconvenience and provided snacks and drinks during the wait.
