South Korea Presidential Election: Lee Jae-myung's Victory Confirmed!

On the 3rd, South Korea held its 21st presidential election, achieving a voter turnout of 79.4%, marking the highest in 28 years.

At 11:40 PM local time, the three major TV networks, KBS, MBC, and SBS, reported that Lee Jae-myung of the Democratic Party had "won confirmation". Lee stated when leaving home that it is too early to say he has won, but if the results are confirmed, he will express respect for the citizens' great decision.

Former President Moon Jae-in also congratulated Lee on Facebook, expressing his belief that Lee can fulfill the mission of the times.

This election followed widespread unrest due to former President Yoon Seok-youl's declaration of martial law, which led to his impeachment by Congress and his official dismissal following a constitutional court ruling in April.
