World's Largest Airport: King Fahd International Airport Bigger Than Singapore
The world's largest airport, King Fahd International Airport, is located in Saudi Arabia, covering an area of 780 square kilometers, larger than the entire land area of Singapore. According to the Guinness World Records, this airport has been operational since 1999 and currently hosts 37 airlines, with an annual passenger volume exceeding 10 million and flights to 43 destinations.
In Dubai, plans are underway to construct a new terminal at Al Maktoum International Airport, projected to be completed by 2034, which will become the largest airport in the world, potentially accommodating 260 million passengers and 1.2 million tons of cargo annually.
