DarkShot Wins Taiwan's World Cosplay Summit; Set to Compete in Japan in August

The "2025 Taoyuan City Costume Carnival" concluded successfully at the Land Plaza, with the highlight on the second day being the announcement of the winning team for the Taiwan selection for the World Cosplay Summit (WCS). The champion team DarkShot claimed victory with characters from "Bloodborne," and they will represent Taiwan in Nagoya, Japan this August to compete for the title of the best in the world.
Members of the winning team, Aurora (Michael) and Ink, both have over 10 years of experience in cosplay. They mentioned that they spent a year preparing for the competition, carefully researching and experimenting with various materials to accurately portray their characters. While they are thrilled to win, they also recognize the responsibilities that come with representing Taiwan in Japan, and they plan to engage extensively with other cosplayers and judges in the coming two months to improve their performance. The second place was awarded to "Not Bae's The Third Person", while the third place went to "Flying Fengshen".
Wang Lijuan, deputy director of the Taoyuan City Government's Tourism Bureau, highlighted the popularity of cosplay among the younger crowd and the benefits of promoting tourism in the Qingpu area and Land Plaza. She also hinted that the "Taoyuan Halloween City" event will be held again in October for more excitement for costume lovers.
