President Lai Expresses Gratitude to Formosa Children's Choir for Promoting Taiwan-Vatican Relations

President Lai Ching-te met with the "Formosa Children's Choir" on the morning of the 10th, commending their recent performance at the Vatican and international tour across Europe for promoting exchanges between Taiwan and the Vatican through indigenous music. He expressed appreciation for their efforts in letting the world hear Taiwan.

Reflecting on Vice President Chen Chien-jen's representation at the inauguration of Pope Leo XIV last month, Lai noted that the choir’s singing allowed for interaction with the Pope, enhancing Taiwan-Vatican relations. He said it was touching to see the choir perform in Latin, cheering "Taiwan supports you" for the Pope.

Furthermore, the choir collaborated with the renowned Sistine Chapel Choir in Italy and continued their tour in Poland, Germany, and Austria. Lai emphasized that music is a universal language and thanked the choir for sharing Taiwan's voice in the most sacred of places.

He also expressed gratitude towards the Formosa Education Association and conductor Ma Peter for their impactful efforts in establishing a music school and nurturing children's confidence and dreams through music.
