Lai Ching-te Supports Shen Bo-yang: Taiwan Media Collaborates with Chinese Operations
President Lai Ching-te voiced full support for DPP legislator Shen Bo-yang during a meeting on the 11th, condemning the allegations against Shen's father of 'earning red money.' Lai criticized the pro-China propaganda outlets in Hong Kong, such as the 'Tai Kung Pao and Wen Wei Po,' for colluding with certain Taiwanese media to smear Shen Bo-yang and his family, falsely labeling a law-abiding international businessman.
Lai pointed out that these actions were aimed not only at thwarting a recall election but also at dividing Taiwanese society and undermining democracy. He condemned local collaborators for enabling malicious operations from abroad and presenting false narratives as news.
Lai urged that in the face of Chinese threats, Taiwan must reject and prevent such operations collectively, safeguarding the values of democracy and uniting against external interference.
