Air India Boeing 787 Crashes 30 Seconds After Takeoff, Survivor Shares Experience

An Air India Boeing 787 Dreamliner suffered a tragic accident today (12th) near Ahmedabad International Airport in India, crashing into a medical college dormitory. Almost all on board have been presumed dead.
According to footage from airport surveillance, the aircraft experienced a significant drop in engine thrust shortly after takeoff, leading to insufficient lift and a continuous descent until it ultimately crashed and exploded. The Indian Directorate General of Civil Aviation revealed that the plane had issued a 'MAYDAY' call to air traffic control (ATC) before the crash but failed to respond thereafter.
The aircraft took off from runway 23 but quickly fell outside the airport perimeter, generating large plumes of smoke. A 59-second video from the surveillance cameras shows that the Boeing 787 had normal thrust initially after takeoff, but at 26 seconds in, engine thrust noticeably decreased, leading to a steady height decline until it crashed at 46 seconds.
The flight carried 230 passengers, 10 crew members, and 2 pilots, with local police initially indicating that all on board were likely to have died. However, later reports confirmed that one British male passenger seated in 11A miraculously survived. He shared with the Indian media that the crash occurred just 30 seconds after takeoff and that everything happened very quickly.
