Vietnam 175 Military Hospital Visits Taiwan for Elderly Care Training

To promote international medical exchange and deepen the ongoing collaboration between Taiwan and Vietnam, Kaohsiung Municipal XiaoGang Hospital hosted the opening ceremony for the "Vietnam 175 Military Hospital Nursing Team - Taiwan Elderly Care Training" on the 16th, officially launching a nearly one-month training course focused on elderly care.
This training program is organized by XiaoGang Hospital in collaboration with several local long-term care institutions. The participants are members of the nursing team from the Vietnam 175 Military Hospital, aiming to nurture talents in geriatric medicine and long-term care through Taiwan's extensive caregiving experience.
At the opening ceremony, esteemed guests included Chien-Chih Chen, Chairman of the Board at Kaohsiung Medical University, Luo Xiangman, Assistant to the Director of Chong En Long-term Care Group, Lin Yueze, CEO of Bozheng Long-term Care System, and Qiu Yuen, CEO of Linhai Long-term Care System, who all witnessed this significant moment.
Director of XiaoGang Hospital, Wen-Chien Hsieh, shared insights on the "Long-Term Care Resource Blueprint of Kaohsiung Medical System and Taiwan's Care Model," showcasing the profound foundation and innovative practices of Kaohsiung Medical System in smart care, dementia care, and swallowing rehabilitation.
Chairman Chien-Chih Chen welcomed the nursing team members from Vietnam’s 175 Military Hospital, emphasizing the meaningful journey of long-term care learning at Kaohsiung Municipal XiaoGang Hospital. He specifically praised XiaoGang Hospital for its high level of professionalism and social concern in "swallowing care," noting that the "Swallowing Rehabilitation Center" is not just a treatment center but a reflection of the successful implementation of Taiwan's long-term care policy and a model of Kaohsiung Medical System's commitment to community health and health equity.
Director Zhi-Hsing Hung pointed out that Taiwan has entered a super-aged society, and creating a friendly, smart, and sustainable caregiving system is a shared responsibility and mission. The visit by the Vietnam 175 Military Hospital team to XiaoGang Hospital is not only a professional training opportunity but also a beautiful moment to continue their profound friendship. This exchange is expected to spark more ideas in the field of elderly care and lay a foundation for deeper future cooperation.
The training course lasts for one month and covers elderly disease care, palliative care, rehabilitation training, long-term care quality monitoring, smart device applications, home care, and several field visits and exchanges. The curriculum combines theory with practice and is taught by experts from the Kaohsiung Medical System and other fields.
