South Korean Marine Corps Completes Joint Island Defense Training

The South Korean Marine Corps completed its joint island defense training on the 23rd, aimed at strengthening defensive capabilities against the northwest islands and deterring North Korean aggression.
According to the Korea Herald, the training took place from the 21st to the 23rd on Baengnyeong Island and Yeonpyeong Island, mobilizing 5,500 personnel from the Marine Corps, Army, Navy, and Air Force, along with 10 ships and over 40 aerial units.
Equipment such as K239 multiple launch rockets, K9 self-propelled howitzers, and AH-64 attack helicopters were employed to simulate joint defense operations. The report stated that the training assumed North Korea's provocation through drones and artillery, planning to capture the northwest islands. Troops practiced firing procedures for K239 and K9, and with support from AH-64, conducted amphibious landings to reclaim territory, successfully completing the defense drill.
