Hidden Thai Fast Food in Taichung: Flavors Like a Thai Mom's Cooking

Taichung|Located on Fukel Road in West District, the Ji Ping Thai Fast Food is an unassuming little eatery run by a Thai lady. Despite its plain exterior, the rich aroma of Thai spices welcomes you as you approach.
The interior is simple, with a menu displayed on the wall featuring not only the dishes available but also Thai text, adding familiarity to the dining experience. During a visit, a group of Thai friends was enjoying their meal inside.
Arriving around 1 PM, there were fewer dishes left, but the main ingredients were fresh seasonal vegetables, complemented by the owner's specially made Thai sauces.
Among the offerings, the Tom Yum soup is packed with ingredients such as radish, ginger, enoki mushrooms, and chicken, all for just 50 NTD, making it a fantastic deal. The soup is slightly sour with no spice, perfect for those who love a tangy taste.
Additionally, the signature Thai chicken leg bento is a highlight, featuring a fried chicken leg that is crispy on the outside and juicy inside. A bite, paired with the homemade spicy sauce, is pure bliss.
If you feel that the flavor is not enough, you can enhance it by adding the spicy sauce available on the side. While the presentation may not be extravagant, every dish tastes like it was made by a Thai mother at home—simple, flavorful, and reasonably priced.
For fans of Thai cuisine, Ji Ping Thai Fast Food is a must-try!
