Indian Plane Crash: 40-Year-Old Man Miraculously Survives, Brother Missing

On December 12, an Indian Airlines flight crashed shortly after takeoff from Ahmedabad, carrying 242 people on board. Among them, a British passenger named Vishwash Kumar Ramesh miraculously survived and is currently receiving medical treatment. However, his brother Ajay Kumar Ramesh is still missing. According to reports from the Hindustan Times, the Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner took off from Ahmedabad and crashed just five minutes later near the local international airport, causing chaos and a subsequent fire.

Vishwash was seated in economy class at A11 during the incident. He suffered injuries to his chest, eyes, and legs. Recalling the event from his hospital bed, he said: “Less than 30 seconds after takeoff, I heard a loud noise, and then the plane crashed. It all happened so quickly.” When he stood up, he saw bodies and debris surrounding him, and he was later rescued and taken to the hospital.

Having lived in London for 20 years, Vishwash had returned to India to visit family and was traveling with his 45-year-old brother Ajay. Unfortunately, he lost contact with Ajay after the incident. Tearfully, Vishwash pleaded, “He was sitting in another row. I can’t find him; please help me find him.” Meanwhile, many family members of other passengers are gathered at the hospital, looking for information about their missing loved ones.

Vijay Rupani, the former Chief Minister of Gujarat, was also among the passengers, and his former aide Sailesh Mandaliya has arrived at the hospital to assist in the search. “We are looking for him. If you have any information, please let me know immediately,” he stated. The cause of the accident is still under investigation, and rescue and search operations are ongoing. Officials have not yet provided an exact number of casualties.
