Air India Plane Crash: 241 Dead, Only Survivor Shares Harrowing Experience
An Air India flight AI 171, en route from Ahmedabad to London, tragically crashed just 30 seconds after takeoff, resulting in 241 fatalities among passengers and crew members. Only one survivor, a 40-year-old man named Vishwash Kumar Ramesh, managed to escape the catastrophe.
Reports indicate that the Boeing 787-8 issued a mayday call shortly after takeoff but subsequently lost contact with air traffic control. The crash site is located near a residential area close to the Ahmedabad airport, with preliminary reports stating that at least 204 bodies have been recovered and sent to nearby hospitals.
In the hospital, the survivor Ramesh recalled that the aircraft began to descend and emit flames and smoke just 30 seconds after takeoff. This tragic event has garnered widespread media attention worldwide.
The captain of the flight was the experienced Sumeet Sabharwal, while the first officer was Clive Kundar.
