Liang Wenchieh Suggests Director Should Live in China Longer for a Deeper Understanding, Hsieh Han-Ping Critiques

Internet celebrity 'Director' Chen Chih-Han recently traveled to China for a live broadcast, praising everything from restrooms to robot delivery services, drawing attention from both sides of the Taiwan Strait. Liang Wenchieh, spokesperson for the Mainland Affairs Council, responded by suggesting that tourism often fails to reveal the true social landscape, advising the Director to stay longer and observe more to understand what life is truly like there.

Media personality Hsieh Han-Ping sharply criticized Liang's remarks on Facebook, questioning his credibility: 'Haven't you only visited a few hotels in Macau? Have you really lived there?' In discussing the Director's visit to China, Liang emphasized that Taiwanese people are very familiar with mainland China and the significant changes it has undergone over the last thirty years, with a large number of Taiwanese working, studying, and doing business in China, potentially living there in the hundreds of thousands.

He expressed hope that the Director could see more during his stay, since tourism usually does not reveal the societal reality, urging him to stay longer for deeper insights into genuine life in China.
