European Parliament Representatives Visit Yunlin to Enhance Digital Governance and International Partnership

County Mayor Chang Li-shan warmly welcomed Ms. Aleliunaite, Director of the European Parliament's Information Office, during her visit on the afternoon of the 10th, presenting her with Gukeng coffee. The two parties engaged in in-depth discussions on digital governance, AI applications, and local sustainable development, promoting the advancement of smart city initiatives and international cooperation.
Mayor Chang emphasized Yunlin's rich cultural and agricultural resources, stating that the county government is dedicated to encouraging digital transformation and governance.
During the meeting, Ms. Aleliunaite addressed challenges facing rural areas in Europe, such as employment and digital disparities, and shared the EU's support policies for agriculture and rural development. She also commended Yunlin's achievements in digital agriculture, suggesting it should be regarded as Taiwan's seventh city.
Additionally, Yunlin County was selected as one of the world's top seven smart cities for 2024, showcasing its capabilities in digital innovation governance.
